Using ... Brownies?

Yes, believe it or not! Here's a cool e-mail we got from a customer recently:

Just wanted you to know that I put a teaspoon of protein powder into the chocolate cake mix and pumped up it’s healthful value.  It was 15 more calories,  yes, but the protein exchange was worth it.   Oh, I have been trying all sorts of fun things with these yummy little snacks.  I added orange sugar-free gelatin and a drop of orange flavoring to the cinnamon.   Yum.  I added cherry sugar-free pudding to the chocolate and made myself a Black forest cake.  This is lots of fun..   Nothing like having fun with  your cake and eating it too!!!

And another one - Rocky Road Brownie:

Ingredients:
1 Fiber Gourmet Lite Brownie
1 tablespoon chopped peanuts
10 mini marshmallows

Instructions:
Prepare brownie batter as directed on box. Sprinkle chopped peanuts over batter, sprinkle with included powdered sugar, then top with mini marshmallows. Microwave for 45 seconds and enjoy!

Comments: This is my go-to dessert when I am craving something high calorie from the local ice cream shop. I still get my chocolate fix with an ooey-gooey topping, but none of the guilt

And one more - Magically Crumb-tastic Apple Cake:

Ingredients:
1/2 apple (skin on or off)
1 Cinnamon Crumb Cake mix

Instructions:
1. Mix crumb cake mix and water per package directions in black bowl.
2. Chop the apple into small pieces, then mix into batter.
3. Sprinkle sugar packet (included with crumb cake mix) on top.
4. Bake in microwave per package directions.

Comments
: This makes a delicious apple dessert that tastes halfway between apple cake and apple crisp. Top with a couple of tablespoons of fat-free non-dairy dessert topping (like Cool Whip) for a creamy topping. Even my militant anti-diet food family members love this!

Using ... Crackers?

Yes, believe it or not again! Here's a cool e-mail we got from a customer recently:

I am finding ways to use them besides a snack by themselves. I made a meatloaf (well, it was more vegetable than meat, but the same concept) and I ground the cheese crackers to use as crumbs, (instead of the usual bread crumbs) and I put very little additional salt in the loaf, and it was really good!

And here's a formal recipe we receied, entitled Breading Ideas
